John is extremely knowledgeable at what he does. He not only understands the products design and the products use, but also has an exceptional ability to be able to explain what he knows to all departments.

As part of the steel group, I provide wire rope product technical information, support, and service to fellow employees throughout the organization and to our customers around the globe. I have experience with wire ropes used in the crane industry, surface mining, oilfield, fabricated products, MIL specs, and general purpose applications. My tasks and duties include product development participation, product support, the development of robust solutions for data management and product data management, and project management. I participate in the development, review, and drafting of technical specifications, standards, and user's guides related to wire rope and fabricated products. This includes documents meeting both internal requirements and industry requirements. I represent our corporation in the industry by serving on various groups and committees that review and develop industry standards and specifications. I currently sit as Vice Chair on ASME B30.2, Vice Chair of B30.30, and am a contributing member on B30.3. I have been a guest speaker at various industry educational conferences including AWRF, CCAA, and SC&RA.Throughout my years with WireCo WorldGroup, I have participated in many special projects related to defining and implementing best business practices. I served as the ERP functional leader in the areas of item setup, quality, and engineering.During my time at WireCo, I had developed many Access-based programs that were used to conduct some of the daily tasks of various departments within the corporation. I worked on the team that helped implement the current ERP system, JD Edwards. I have developed calculators and other analytic tools for use by our customers to assist them in the use of our products and resolving issues in the field. Show less

Worked a long portion of my time at Monfort Pork on the picnic line skinning picnic hams and boning picnic hams. Served 6 years as union steward and as a member of the safety committee. My union position and relationship with the floor management allowed me to learn numerous jobs throughout the floor although I only officially held a small number of jobs during my time at the plant. This helped in relieving stress for fellow workers during heavy workload periods as extra help was not always available. The plant closed displacing my job and I entered college at that time.
