      Sport4Life Ltd is a not for profit community enterprise, established in April 2005, which brings together the skills, knowledge and experience of highly motivated individuals working in the sport & leisure sector. Sport 4 Life aims to deliver more sport & physical activity opportunities, sports training & education programmes, sports volunteering on a regional basis, in particular to inner city and deprived communities who traditionally do not get the chance to take part. Sport 4 Life is committed to delivering its activities on a not for profit basis, all profits are utilised to: 1. Subsidise sport & physical activities we deliver on community initiatives 2. Provide match funding for funding applications to deliver new community sports activity 3. Support a number of charities (see separate section on web site) 4. Support selected talented athletes (of any age) who do not access mainstream grants & national lottery funding Sport 4 Life has trained over 350 people from the NW region as volunteers for the 2012 London Olympics on a pre employment initiative called Personal Best.

During my time the school oversaw the building of a new school on a new site and a transition to eh new site that has great facilities. The school had three OFSTED inspections during my tenure and achieved an Outstanding grade in all three, a great testament to the hard work and dedication of the senior leaders, school teachers, school support staff and the school governors.

      The East Manchester Sport Action Zone (SAZ) covered the areas of Beswick, Clayton and Openshaw.This area encompasses the new `Sport City` complex that hosted the Commonwealth Games in2002. The SAZ project is jointly funded by Sport England (National Lottery) and New Deal forCommunities (NDC) I was the SAZ manager based within the NDC team in Beswick.This SAZ geographic target area is exactly the same as the Beacons for a Brighter Future SRBregeneration initiative, & the New Deal for Communities regeneration initiative. Also includedwithin the Sport Action Zone area is the East Manchester Education Action Zone, this comprisestwelve primary schools and four high schools. All of the above initiatives are within the boundariesof New East Manchester Ltd. one of the four Urban regeneration pilot companies established bythe government.
