I developed standard costing for 200+ produced items and identify areas of improvement for cost reduction. My daily activities involved supervising the accounting, purchasing, human resources, logistics, information technology and administrative workforce, monitoring of credit lines, and developing open interdepartmental communication. Nittany doubled in revenue during my tenure, and I obtained more than fifteen million dollars financing for working capital and capital expenditures to help sustain that growth. I completed projects including: - Transitioning the company from QuickBooks to IQMS - Moved the company from a yearly financial review to full audit - Introduced LEAN concepts to the office staff and departments. - Rearranged the office to minimize walking time and distance, while maximizing accessibility - We also converted the Accounting Department to "paperless" by not generating any internal paperwork - I developed and implemented written standard operating procedures for each accounting process and several other ERP processes Show less I was responsible for the maintenance and preparation of financial statements and budgets for both management and financial institution review. I also wrote exams, utilizing excel to create dynamic multiple-choice questions. The second class, Analyzing Business and Industry, was aimed to show students the big picture of business. Students directed a simulated business, competing amongst themselves in marketing, financing, accounting, and operations. The students were then required to write essays based on their strategy and results. My tasks included offering guidance to students for the simulation, hosting virtual office hours with students, and grading the essays for the students’ understanding of key performance indicators.
