  As Befriending Coordinator I partnered with another coordinator to manage the Young Person's Befriending Project and for the Elderly Befriending Service. This involved recruiting and training volunteer befrienders, and meeting with vulnerable young people and isolated elderly to match them with the support needed. As Coordinator, I played a key role in writing funding applications and submitting annual reports to funders to show that we worked to key targets. This work also meant liaising with other third sector support groups and occasionally taking part in strategic planning sessions across the third sector within Orkney. Show less
