The Internal Affairs Unit responds to all allegations of misconduct and conducts thorough, thoughtful, and impartial investigations based on objective quantifiable facts. In addition to the responsibility of verifying and documenting allegations when warranted, the Internal Affairs Unit is also responsible for the protection of employees from false allegations, a charge that all of the members of this unit take seriously. The Internal Affairs Unit prides itself on its contributions to the agency and our field, holding ourselves to the highest professional standards, policing ourselves to ensure all staff's conduct is exemplary both on and off duty. Troop K, Colchester is the primary Law Enforcement for 12 towns in Eastern Ct comprising nearly 385 sq miles, hundreds of limited access highways and secondary roadways with a residential population of approx 100,000 which increases significantly during the spring/summer season. Prior to my assigment at Troop K, I was assigned as Patrol/Duty Sergeant, FTO Sergeant at Troop E, Montville which is also responsible for Police Service for towns, critical infrastructures, major interstates, 395 / 95 in Eastern Ct which is a larger geographic area than Troop K and a significantly higher population.
