Chief Engineer • Head of Engineering Department looking after a team of 7 Maintenance personnel. • Prepare and install Preventative Maintenance system to reduce the frequency of break downs to plant and Equipment. Train and direct staff to implement new systems. Overall we have had a reduction of approx. 72% in reactive maintenance. • Maintenance of UPS and backup generator to ensure continuity of supply for the hotel and guests. • Attend monthly Key Personnel meetings and report to General Manager and other Heads of Departments, as to what has been achieved within the engineering department that month. • Facilitate monthly tool box training meetings with dept Staff, These included topics such as “the use and purpose of PPE”, “communication in the workplace”ECT. • In conjunction with site Safety officer facilitate fire safety training for all of Hotel staff. As Fire Safety Adviser for the hotel, work closely with all departments to ensure evacuation and emergency response teams are well trained in all aspects of hotel safety. • Re-tender service contracts with new scopes of works for better outcomes for the Hotel. Use local contractors were possible and bring all contractor insurances and procedures up to date. • Project Management of internal fit outs for rooms and restaurant to ensure that they meet the Versace standard and come in on time and on Budget. • Active WHS Committee member. • Assist other departments as the need arises • Assist with the Setting and managing of CAPEX and OPEX budgets. • Liaise with Council and State Government authorities to ensure compliance within the hotel is met. • Liaise with Condominium Manager re Maintenance and compliance issues.
