The current Safe Space Program (ES for its initials in Spanish) are located at the central zone and border communities of Costa Rica and they are the product of a successful collaboration among several agencies that have been coordinated by UNICEF. Among these agencies are PANI; DINADECO; VICEPAZ; the Department of Immigration and Foreign Affairs, Health Department, Acción Joven Foundation; Embassy of USA and other based faith and integral community development organizations. There are ten ES currently operating and they are doing an efficient job by integrating the displaced communities of populations from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua; in addition to politic asylum seekers and indigenous communities that work the agriculture sector of the country, along the local communities that have received them. These ES were established during the COVID-19 pandemic and many of its objectives and preventive factors have contribute to build resilience in their target communities that have benefit from the work of this project.
