Located in Toronto’s urban centre of Moss Park, MLSE LaunchPad serves as an ambitious ‘living lab’ to explore and measure how sport can help improve the lives of youth. Our 42,000sq ft space is an incubator for collaboration. In addition to sport programs developed by our team of coaches, we host expert partners who deliver best-in-class programming that support our 4 Pillars: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready For School and Ready For Work. MLSE LaunchPad is a place where youth use sport to recognize and reach their potential. Our focus is on achieving sustainable, wide-ranging social outcomes for youth facing barriers through a Sport For Development approach. Sport For Development is a specific methodology supported by extensive research that suggests the intentional use of sport and physical activity can build healthy communities and help people reach their full potential. Sport is a very powerful tool, and we believe by combining sport and youth development programming with a commitment to measurement and evaluation, anything is possible. OUR COMMITMENT TO ANTI-RACISM, EQUITY AND INCLUSION To fulfill our mission, we know that our work must engage with the systems of power and oppression which impact the communities we serve. In doing so, we recognize our own positionality and commit to transforming our work in ways that support the dismantling of systemic racism, amplify the lived experiences of Black, Indigenous and other communities of colour, and hold us accountable to meaningful and lasting change. As we move forward, we are mindful that how we serve our communities will evolve as we listen, learn, reflect and take action. We will continue to update this page with our efforts which you can find below.

National Player Evaluator

Jun 2012 - Present
Canletes Sports was created in 2012 by Canadian female basketball trailblazer Lee Anna Osei. At the time, Lee Anna had returned home from playing collegiate basketball abroad. As a former prospective athlete she quickly made note of the lack of opportunities for females in sport, particularly in skill development opportunities, showcase events, and recruitment consulting. With the encouragement of her friends and family, she officially launched Canada’s first girl’s website dedicated to promoting and celebrating female sport participation and engagement. In 2014 Kareem Griffin, former Eastern Commerce C.I High School coach and OFSAA champion, was named Director of Canletes. With his acquisition Canletes expanded services to include events such as : The Annual Ontario High School All Star Game, held at Humber College during Canada Basketball’s annual December Camp, The All Canadian Best in the Prep Showcase. Canletes also aspires to support various social initiatives, such as hosting the Annual Shoot for a Cure Showcase and In 2020, Canletes maintained status as a Canadian not for profit organization. With an aim of expanding female sport participation and engagement across all sports, the organization continues to celebrate women from all sport backgrounds and levels, including organizing mentorship opportunities for preteen females interested in sport. The community of women’s basketball is rapidly growing in Ontario and throughout Canada, with girls going on to play at the collegiate level such as NCAA, U SPORTS and CCAA. This superb growth has allowed some of these young women to even play at the professional level. Expanding our mission to reach players across the country is our goal, to afford female athletes in the East/West Coast the same as their counterparts in Ontario.
