-Created a novel experimental apparatus used in conjunction with a schlieren imaging system to enable visualization of the interplay between supersonic gas jets and electrospray under vacuum conditions. Experimental results yielded regimes for stable electrospray operation and fine control of spray trajectories with gas jets -Presented foundational work at the ASMS 2021 and 2022 conference poster session -Developed a novel electrospray technique for use in an electron microscope vacuum environment for extraction of sample material after e-beam imaging. Results yielded optimal electrospray emitter geometries, stable spray regimes, and the ability to sample micron-sized regions of a specimen for future mass spectrometry imaging capabilities. -Developed extensive software and GUI codes in MATLAB and Python for critically analyzing the hydrodynamics of gas-fluid-hydrogel interfaces relating to the physiological phenomenon of dry eye in human test subjects -Co-authored a journal manuscript describing a novel testing system to help diagnose Contact Lens Induced Dry Eyes (CLIDE) using thin film interferometry -Provided critical assistance in developing a scientific theory for characterizing CLIDE by studying thin film motions of the tear film in human subjects. Results showed that diagnosis varies based upon subject and personal biological factors contribute to CLIDE Show less
