  I have been contracted to play on a professional bridge team in the United States for a number of North American Bridge Championships since March 2017. This has given me great experience of working in a high stress, high stakes environment, where both individual performance and the ability to work as a team are crucial. On many of these occasions I was tasked with ensuring my teammates and our clients (sponsors) were up to date and understood all our technical agreements for the event. I have been contracted to play on a professional bridge team in the United States for a number of North American Bridge Championships since March 2017. In my main class in the RSGYC, I took a core group from people who had never held cards, all the way to being intermediate players over a two year period, all while expanding the class as time went on.   I started as a tournament director in bridge by being thrown into the deep end, learning the ropes as a solo director in the largest bridge club in Europe (200 players per night), and have since moved clubs a few times, as well as operating in a freelance manner. I learned a lot from my abrupt introduction into the job, as I had to be able to think quickly to solve the myriad of different problems that arise every night, all while keeping 200 people happy and the game thinking along. The main skills I have gained from directing would be dispute resolution/mediation, time management, problem solving (especially in time crunch situations), and public speaking. Show less
