Our lab studies the mechanisms underlying CD8+ T cell differentiation. Specifically, we are interested in two homologous T-box transcription factors; T-bet and Eomesodermin. Our goal is to elucidate the distinct roles of these transcription factors in influencing CD8+ T cell effector and memory fate decisions. To this end, we employ several tumor and infectious disease models to study the contribution of T-bet and Eomes to T cell responses in vivo. Worked in both the field and the lab. Conducted multiple different forward and reverse genetic laboratory techniques studying the genes involved in sucrose transport in maize. Performed genetic crosses and phenotypic analyses in the field. Worked in both the field and the lab.
