  Master's thesis in cand.public (analytical journalism): "You know, to give birth is just a lucky gamble - an analysis of communicative aspects and perceived impact of the mHealth project Wired Mothers in Zanzibar." The thesis is exploring and analysing the role of mobile phones within development projects, specifically in a health project in Zanazibar named Wired Mothers. Wired Mothers is a Danish initiated project, using mobile phones to create a stronger link between pregnant women in Zanzibar and the formal health system to fight high maternal and child mortality rates on the island. The thesis analyses project intentions and structure, local context and perception of the project from the women's point of view and discusses what could be done in future project to ensure a greater impact and a greater level of understanding between the project inititators and beneficiaries.
