I have been privileged to work with Johanna and her fabulous storytelling skills for several years now across a variety of industries. She has an incredible ability to humanise a brand through her words and always manages to leave you smiling after reading one of her pieces. She brings a wealth of knowledge, curiosity and passion to her copywriting, and her communication regarding deadlines is always fantastic. I cannot recommend Johanna highly enough and look forward to continuing working with her for many years to come.

We hired Joh as a freelance copywriter to create some new and improved content for our website. Right off the bat, Joh was extremely professional and understanding of our requirements. She was intuitive and a great communicator, which allowed her to understand our brief quickly, provide some great suggestions and deliver on what we needed. She also kept us up to date with her progress, which was very helpful to us given our short timeframes, which Joh had no problem meeting. Would definitely work with Joh again in future.

I worked with finance, property and professional services clients to deliver content with a meaningful story, articles that pique readers' interest, and copy that educates and informs. I have written thousands of words, devised dozens of content strategies, come up with countless headlines, and brain-stormed a tonne of angles and tag-lines under the banner of my copywriting business, StoryBridge. Working closely with editors and clients, my work involved writing: — Lead magnets, such as ebooks and white papers, to attract new customers — Articles for member associations to build awareness — Case studies to humanise businesses and tell engaging stories — Website re-writes in line with new brand direction — Tone-of-voice documents to elucidate a company's values and vocabulary — Executive opinion pieces to distil a company message into compelling language. I was a part-time sub-editor for The Sunday Herald Sun from November 2008 until September 2010, before assuming a full-time post as a section editor at The Herald and Weekly Times. Here I redesigned and edited the Country Living lifestyle lift-out, adding a fresh layout and a raft of new sections. I commissioned book reviews, edited columnists' copy, laid out pages in Indesign, spearheaded online campaigns, drove traffic to the website, and wrote features. I was also a regular contributor to the Herald Sun's travel pages. Show less

I edited the online health section for the London's Daily Telegraph, which involved commissioning freelancers to write interesting health pieces, as well as monitoring web traffic and crafting stories to attract new readers to the site. I was responsible for ensuring the site was accurate, up to date, and remained relevant to the discerning Telegraph reader through a number of engaging series, such as an examination of common health myths, as well as a luxury health hub that reviewed the top spas in Britain. In addition to overseeing the Telegraph's health section (see above), I also worked casually for The Guardian's news site as an online sub-editor during my time in London. This meant checking journalists' copy before it was published, writing catchy and succinct headlines, uploading content and galleries to the news site, and checking for both grammatical and factual errors.
