Different than previous employers, Evergreen focuses on Mills, Factories, and mechanical design, but also structural design. Once again, I was hired for my expertise in Revit and knowledge of structural systems. I quickly gained the trust of project managers with my efficient work and thoughtful follow through. Working on different disciplines and industries has greatly expanded my knowledge of the design process, allowing me to exercise and sharpen all the skills to successfully interpret our design intent. Below is a list of responsibilities as a Mechanical Designer:Creating structural analytical 3D Revit models created for streamlined link between RISA analysis software.Creating 3D Revit models of structural systems and mechanical systems for 2D construction documentation.Creating mechanical equipment and HVAC systems 3D Inventor models and documentation.Creating steel shop drawing packagesReviewing steel shop drawing packagesTraining and mentoring drafting staff in Revit. Creating office specific BIM training courses.Managing drafting task and scheduling for up to 5 drafters and designers.Creating estimates of drafting and modeling time for project proposals.Writing Revit office best practices to be included into the office drafting manual.Notable Projects:Kingsford Dry Drag Conveyor and Supporting StructureBHS RenovationsGP Toledo Oregon Equipment UpgradesUniversity of Oregon Chiller House Radio TowerCal-Ag Cal-Plant 1, Willows, CA

At Englekirk my main responsibility was 3D modeling. I was hired on my expertise of Revit. After learning the Englekirk workflow, I began taking on a larger role as a lead drafter meaning I would be in charge of meeting all my project deadlines, making sure our documents are to office standards and delegating work to other drafters in office and Vietnam. My knowledge helped me become an office resource in Revit. I was able to run two instructional lessons teaching best practices and techniques to other drafting staff.

After being hired at WPM, I was given great opportunity to learn Revit from a very experienced user. Two weeks of training later I was creating multiple models for an international client. Since then I have been mostly working with Revit. I was able to work on high profile projects with world renown clients. While at WPM I learned so much from working side by side with engineers, finding solutions for complex design problems. Below were some of my responsibilities:Drafting duties, creating documentation throughout all the different phases of projects, from schematic design to full construction documents.Building information modeling, creating 3D models for inter discipline coordination using Navisworks, creating 3D models of existing buildings using blueprint documents.Delegating work with drafters country wide to meet project deadlines.

Structura is a consulting engineering firm that works on a variety of projects including, commercial, residential, government, and entertainment venues. At first, I didn't have many drafting responsibilities, mostly I copied and transferred shop drawing comments, but after gaining the engineering staffs' trust and confidence I was able to specialize in CAD. Working at Structura helped build a strong structural knowledge base and push me to self learn and research. Below were some of my responsibilities:Drafting duties, transferring engineer red line comments into CAD.Creating and maintaining company wide drafting standards including a block library and typical detail library.Organizing drafting meetings in which engineering staff could learn tips and tricks while using AutoCAD or request new blocks or tools be created by me.

I began working at MCDB while enrolled in my second year at Thomas Edison H.S. I excelled in my class and I requested an application for work-study credits. After the school approved the work-study, I searched through the phone book under Architects and began calling. I made many phone calls and left many messages and after a few days, an interview was set. I was able to implement my knowledge of CAD and learn one-on-one from a self employed professional, which has been invaluable to my growth and success. Below are some of the responsibilities I had while employed: Drafting assistant to the Chief Architect, aided in completing construction documents for residential projects.Basic office duties, answering phone calls, taking messages, faxing documents, correspondences with clients.Site visit assistant, helped in the field taking measurements of existing conditions, drew sketches for notes, and assisted in taking pictures.
