  As a software developer and project leader at the R&D division of Luciad, supplier of geospatial (GIS) libraries for Java, I was responsible for the coordination and development of software components in Luciad’s flagship products, LuciadMap, LuciadLightspeed and LuciadFusion. My responsibilities included:- Projject lead for R&D projects, typically in teams of 3-4 people, with a timeframe of 4-6 months- Project requirements analysis, planning & risk assessment- High level software design- Software development- Technical customer support In my job as a software developer, I gained expertise in:- Java: API design (with a strong focus on backwards compatibility), algorithms, performance analysis and optimization- Geographical Information Systems : - GIS algorithms, including large (world-scale) path planning algorithms - OGC standards (GML,WFS,WMS, …) - ECDIS maritime standards (S-57,S-52,S-63,AML) - processing and visualisation of spatial data, with focus on vector data (KML,GML,SHP,GDF,VPF,…)- Cloud omputing and big data processing- Agile development using the SCRUM methodology
