      Throughout my tenure with REDPRO Global (Pty) Ltd, Johan has been involved in the following projects: 1. Drive-by-wire System (Automotive): o The product's primary target market is the automation of vehicles used in and around mines. o The system takes control of the vehicle if the driver ignores warning signals from a PDS (Proximity detection system) or performs an unsafe task while driving (exceeds the speed limit, unbuckles seatbelt whilst driving, etc.). 2. Vehicle immobiliser unit (Automotive): • The product's primary target market is the car tracking industry. • The system takes control of the vehicle by limiting the amount of throttle a driver can apply and, as a result, limit the vehicle’s speed. 3. Knee movement monitor device (Medical) • The product’s primary target market is the medical industry. • The objective of this product is to monitor the recovery of a person’s knee post-operation. The following I was tasked to do for the various project mentioned above: • Design and implemented embedded source code in C for ARM Cortex microcontrollers. • Design and implement embedded libraries, drivers, and custom C code to interface with various sensors over a digital bus using communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, CAN, USART, SDIO & USB_OTG. • Design various types of custom, multilayer electronic circuit boards. • Design, develop and implement real-time software filters, such as Moving average, low-pass, FIR, IIR and notch filter for analogue signals on custom design electronic circuit board. • Design various custom PCBs from Analogue, Mixed-Signal and Power electronics. • Ensure that the circuit board passes EMC testing, coordinates with different component suppliers, and manages project BOM costs. • The design incorporated the design and implementation of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU), data logging, Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA), and low power demand design.
