I design modular, multi-purpose structures to support repair work on nuclear submarines. These structures are often dynamic and mechanically complex due their need to adapt to various work evolutions. My projects include new structures as well as seismic retrofits of existing buildings. As an engineer, I own each project from cradle to grave and work closely with fabricators to ensure the final product meets design specifications.

As an intern I assisted senior design engineers with seismic retrofits of several Boeing facilities in the Seattle area. I analyzed the existing structures to determine the original demand-capacity ratios and determined the position of new lateral bracing to maximize seismic resistance. I also reviewed construction drawings for the Husky Stadium expansion and renovation to verify the accuracy and adequacy of structural details.
