Joey is a natural born people leader. He is a fantastic listener, and genuinely cares about each of his employees. IT shows because he consistently lead a top performing team during his career at Cox Communications. Joey naturally connects well with people easily and due to this not only is a great leader, but also excellent at sales, customer care, and retention. Joey is highly technical and enjoys teaching/mentoring others. Due to this, he is also a great trainer and mentor.

As co-founder, I played a critical role in the success of this start-up wholesale plumbing supply business. Our enterprise grew exponentially – from $1.5M sales in year one to $8.2M in year four. It was my job to manage business development, purchasing, inventory, and human resources for 16 employees as well as financial operations. This included financial reporting and tax compliance processes: monthly sales tax and personal quarterly income tax, financial reporting, profit & loss statements, statements of operations, inventory evaluations, and AP/AR reporting. I also stewarded $1M 15K+ SKUs inventory while maintaining a 37K square foot facility, two 26’ delivery trucks, IT, and other assets. Here are a few of my achievements prior to selling my share in the company last December: • Achieved $625K net annual income with only $120K of initial startup debt remaining by the end of 2019. • Grew the client base to 200+ business customers across the Southwest U.S. • Achieved key supplier ranking to the top three mechanical builders in the SW region. • Collaborated with partners to develop long-term vision, financial and growth targets through strategic planning. • Engaged with colleagues to enforce quality controls on materials while maintaining solid relations with vendors. • Strengthened relationships with 100+ vendors while negotiating rebates, terms, FFA, cost, and volume forecasts. • Dramatically lowered losses from bad debts by communicating effectively to secure prompt payment from clients for past due accounts without harming key relationships. • Personally engaged with the Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) to manage Human Resources issues such as benefits, onboarding, terminations, and corrective actions. While working in this multi-site business, I engineered dramatic turnarounds across several retail operations. As a Senior Manager, I directed plumbing, heating, and industrial supply company operations in concurrent and consecutive roles. I slashed expenses and streamlined inventory management while increasing sales and profit in all locations. I also performed in-depth Statements of Operations and P&L analyses before developing turnaround strategies. In addition to the above, I managed coaching, incentives, commissions, salaries, corrective actions, business forecasting, and strategic planning. My successful turnarounds included the following. • McDonald Supply (2/2015 to 4/2016) – Decorah and Waterloo, IA: Led a team of 16 employees in transforming a $250K Loss ($7.2M revenue) in 2014 into $198K Net Income ($8.6M Revenue) in 2015. • Hajoca (9/2013 to 2/2015) – Colby, KS: Managed a Warehouse/Counter team of three employees in turning a $65K loss ($980K sales) in 2013 into a $45K net income ($1.1M sales) in 2014. I am extremely proud of what I accomplished in this sales and retention management role. I personally created and led a high performing Inbound/Outbound Retention Representative Team in a call center environment. This included coaching eleven to eighteen employees while overseeing hiring, performance management, and payroll. I also developed guidelines and procedures for the Outbound Retention Team at Cox Communications prior to implementation. Here are a few of my accomplishments: • Personally built a new specialized team to create national strategies to enhance Call Flow and Customer Satisfaction. • Created the innovative processes, outbound call scripts and retention call strategies that were being beta tested. • Radically cut customer churn by building Health Check call strategies and processes while focusing on high risk areas.• Rolled out comprehensive strategies that strengthened critical customer relationships while driving up satisfaction and loyalty. This included success in retaining clients with pending disconnects. • Drove up ROI to 375% during the initial test project due to the success of preventing customer disconnects and restoring the relationship. The strategy was subsequently launched across all systems in 10/2011.• Achieved a 1600% ROI within 1.5 years of rolling out national best practices as National Test Group Team Leader. • Saved $1,213,872 and resold value to Cox within (24 months (1331 RGU’s x $38)).• Collaborated with colleagues to implement the Outbound Retention Project Nationally.
