I have also been involved in a number of replanting and woodland creation projects working closely with other forest managers, contractors and planting teams. This has helped me gain confidence in people management, attention to detail and the use of spreadsheets for cost analysis. As I was working independently of other team members I have organised my own diary and commitments becoming confident and efficient working alone and meeting targets set by forest managers in a timely manner. • Assistant Forester
      • Jul 2016 - Sep 2016

Whilst working at the estate I became proficient felling, processing and moving timber utilising forest machinery. The majority of the felling carried out on the estate was selective thinning for woodland improvement therefore I became capable identifying ideal specimen trees and felling with that in mind. The timber was then stacked at roadside using winch equipment, subsequently it was collected with a timber trailer and transferred to timber stacks for storage. The jobs that I was carrying out while working on Williambury were all farm maintenance jobs such as rolling wire, fixing basic mechanical issues with vehicles, driving the loader to deliver feed to stock, erecting fences and mustering cattle.
