While attending Baldwin Wallace University, my role as the Front of House Supervisor allowed me to directly apply my studies outside of the classroom. Managing a team of students, I ensured that all house management and box office duties were carried out on the night of a performance. I directed all patron questions and concerns while ensuring that all performances followed University procedures. In addition to these nightly tasks, I also managed all shift scheduling and was involved in the interviewing process for new student employees, working directly with the administrative staff of the Department of Theatre and Dance. Western Reserve Historical Society is Cleveland's oldest existing cultural institution, founded in 1867. The Western Reserve Historical Society collects and preserves documents and objects relating to various aspects of national, regional, and local history with a focus on the Northeastern region of Ohio. While interning at WRHS, I worked on digitizing a number of their photograph collections so that they could be uploaded to their digital database for the public to access. In addition to scanning and sorting these materials, I researched each item and created metadata in accordance with the Library of Congress to ensure that the items could be properly categorized for future use.
