Monetize Your Art
-
May 2020 - Jul 2020
As the founder of the Monetize Your Art program, I conceived the idea, secured funding, and marketed it to the community. The program aims to teach visual artists how to monetize their art by providing them with essential business skills. In collaboration with Business in the Streets, we paired each participant with a mentor who guided them through the learning process. The program's curriculum included understanding the business model canvas and mastering the art of pitching themselves effectively. Melissa Falconer facilitated the program, ensuring a well-structured and engaging learning experience for all participants. Show less

Find Your Voice
-
Sep 2017 - Nov 2017
I ran an artist development program called Find Your Voice, which took place from September 26th through November 30th. The program consisted of weekly workshops held every Tuesday from 5-8 pm. Find Your Voice aimed to bring together artists from various backgrounds to network, connect, build friendships, and establish partnerships while fostering their artistic growth. The workshops commenced on Tuesday, September 26th, at SKETCH (180 Shaw St.), providing a welcoming and creative environment for artists to explore their talents and find their unique voices. Business Mentor
-
Jan 2018 - Dec 2020
As a mentor for the Biz Start program, I provided guidance and support to aspiring entrepreneurs aged 18-34, helping them navigate their business ideas and turn them into actionable steps. During the 8-week program, I actively participated in weekly virtual sessions on Saturdays, engaging with my mentees in group activities and sharing my insights and experiences. I also maintained regular check-ins with my assigned mentees throughout the week to ensure accountability and progress. My role as a mentor focused on creating a safe, inclusive, and empathetic environment for meaningful conversations and learning. I encouraged my mentees to commit to the program and achieve their business goals, using my own experiences to help shape their ideas and thoughts into actionable steps. Whenever needed, I sought support from the program facilitator, other mentors, or BITS staff to provide the best possible guidance to my mentees. Show less
