Advanced Practice Provider - Low Back Rapid Access Clinic (RAC) / ISAEC

Within an innovative, upstream, shared-care model of care, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for delivering rapid patient assessment, education, and evidence-based self-management plans for a specific population of low back pain patients. This Regional Assessment Center (LBP RAC) program is designed to decrease the prevalence of unmanageable chronic low back pain, reduce opioid initiation, and reduce unnecessary diagnostic imaging as well as unnecessary specialist referral. Within an innovative, upstream, shared-care model of care, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for delivering rapid patient assessment, education, and evidence-based self-management plans for a specific population of low back pain patients. The Ontario Chiropractic Association Mentorship Program provides the opportunity for one-to-one mentoring relationships over a six month period. Seasoned practitioners utilize a skill set of knowledge transfer, leadership, planning, and management with fellow chiropractors.

The Ontario Chiropractic Association seeks to advance chiropractic health care by supporting research in chiropractic, raising awareness through public education, and demonstrating the value of chiropractic coverage in government and extended health care plans. The Student Committee extends this support to members preparing to enter practice.

Peer Assessor

In the process of fulfilling its duties to serve and protect the public interest, the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), through the Quality Assurance (QA) program, is required to develop, establish and maintain standards of knowledge and skill and programs to promote continuing competence among the members. The public must feel confident that chiropractors continue to be competent for as long as they are in practice. The Peer and Practice Assessment Program is one component of the qualityassurance program, and has to date received feedback that has been overwhelmingly positive.

Member, Guideline Panel - Guideline Development Group

The Guideline Development Group seeks to develop evidence-based clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and best practice recommendations, and facilitate the dissemination of these tools within the chiropractic profession.

Best Practice Collaborator

CCGI Best Practice Collaborators are influential evidence-informed clinicians, nominated by a nation-wide survey of their colleagues. The Best Practice Collaborator is a knowledge translation role that facilitates critical thinking and to teaches about clinical practice guidelines.

Assist in administrating the Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE). Responsibe for observing and scoring candidates as their clinical skills are tested.

As an experienced Examiner and clinician, the Team Leader assists in administering the clinical competency exam by training other examiners on their clinical evaluation station.
