  Joel started his career at a Building Envelope Survey and Testing Technician with a prominent Seattle remediation contractor in 1999. He continued upward becoming a Superintendent/ Project Manager in 2003, and then a Special Projects & Testing Division Manager in 2006 at the same company. In his management of special projects and testing division he was responsible for sales, estimating, budget management, schedule of personnel and management of his own projects in addition to the oversight of projects run by another Project Manager. In 2012 Joel went to work as a Project Manager/Estimator for a caulking contractor for 4 years in Arizona. Within that time he took a 6 month break working with Amento Group as a Field Technician. Now back as a Project Manager at Amento Group, Joel embraces continuous improvement and pragmatic problem solving to provide value to our clients.

  As Special Projects & Testing Division Manager at one of Seattle's premier exterior rehabilitation contractors in Seattle, I oversaw a project manager, superintendent, and several field staff. I prepared quality assurance reports, daily project/safety logs, and reviewed plans and specifications with the project team (architect/engineer, construction manager, homeowners' association board of directors, and property manager). I created the overall project schedules and weekly or bi-weekly updates, provided monthly progress billings based on schedule of value or time and material back-up, and worked with the architect or construction manager on project close-out/punch list procedures.

  As a Laborer and Waterproofer at Tatley-Grund, I performed general labor and demolition, epoxy injection for structural repair of concrete, urethane grout injection for sealing of leaks in concrete walls below grade, and installation of various flashings and weather resistive barriers. I applied various waterproof coatings, including urethane traffic coatings, silicone and acrylic elastomeric wall coatings, cold-applied waterproof membranes, and reinforced MMA and PMMA coatings.
