Payroll and Benefits Supervisor

Provide feedback regarding process improvements and assist Human Resources Director in creating standard operating procedures. Manage payroll, which includes editing time cards and accruals, entering deductions for benefits, reimbursements for various reasons, discretionary bonuses, garnishments, and working with the finance department to process payroll. Oversee benefits administration, including but not limited to, negotiations of benefit contracts, manage open enrollment process, and oversee reconciliations for 403(b) retirement plan. Oversee notices and correspondence to maintain annual compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employee benefits. Conducts monthly training to educate employees and supervisors on benefits, payroll, and time and attendance matters. Construct job descriptions and completes job analysis Handles annual governmental reporting requirements (5500 and EEO-1 filing). Assist in reducing overtime costs - saving around $330,000 for the year of 2021. Assist in reducing Paid Time Off (PTO) liability by monitoring how accruals are put in by employees and correcting inaccurate categorizations of leave resulting in PTO being utilized thus having to pay out fewer banked hours - saving around 65,000 for the year of 2021.
