Professional Truck Drivers, particularly Class A CDL carriers, are 1 of the top 10 most demanded occupations in the United States that organizations have difficulty filling. As DOT regulations continue to get stricter, it makes it even more of a struggle for companies to hire a qualified and dependent truck driver. This is where I come in. In a team atmosphere, my responsibility for the past 2 years has been to fervently search and reach out to applicants nationwide that are searching for a change in their driving career. In a competitive environment based off of recruitment numbers and percentages, I have helped over 200 drivers get hired at J.B. Hunt Transportation helping fill essential positions. This is credited through my ability to establish a rapport with a stranger over the phone, being transparent, gaining their trust, having knowledge and understanding of the particular job descriptions in their area, and assisting them in their search for an opportunity based of their wants and needs. These key factors have helped me succeed as being one of the top Career Placement Specialists in my department. Going from a full time student/bartender to recruiting for a Fortune 500 Company has been one of the most challenging, yet rewarding transitions I have made in my short career thus far. I have gained far more knowledge of the transportation industry than I'd ever imagine. My position has significantly helped develop my communication skills, my efficiency through working with others, my ability to multitask, and to help me be more aware of how important drivers are to our economy.
