As a Partner and the Investment Analyst of 1847 Private Client Group, I am responsible for directing our team’s investment operations, portfolio decisions, and platforms. I also work with both our existing and potential clients to analyze their financial situations, provide recommendations, and implement a portfolio in conjunction with their unique financial goals and overall plans. Over the last few years, I have led the transition and implementation of a model-based investment platform that emphasizes longer-term thinking, asset allocation decisions, and managing investor behavior. The goal is to allow the firm and its advisors to scale their practices by using in-house risk-based asset allocation models and third party partners when needed. While I created the original portfolio lineup, we also formed the PCG Investment Committee, of which I was selected Chairman. The goal of the Committee is to oversee the portfolios by meeting monthly to discuss current positions, overall markets, and potential changes and/or reallocation decisions. As Chairman of the PCG Investment Committee, I oversee all investment and portfolio-management related functions including research, portfolio construction, trading, and thought leadership creation. I lead all research and due diligence efforts performed on investment strategies, fund managers, asset allocation decisions, and portfolio construction methodologies. I received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation in January of 2018.

      • May 2013 - Sep 2013

REF Advisors was launched in June of 2013 as a market-neutral hedge fund focusing on the energy and industrials sectors. As a junior analyst on the team, I worked alongside the portfolio manager to assist with day-to-day portfolio implementation, monitoring, research, and performance tracking. Utilizing the proprietary valuation models created by the PM, I gathered data from annual and quarterly reports and conference calls to identify price targets and over/undervalued securities. Other responsibilities included tracking well test and drilling results of energy holdings, disseminating news that could impact portfolio holdings or their industries, and preparing reports for fund investors. As our primary tool for research, I also gained extensive experience navigating the Bloomberg Terminal.

    • NextGen Bootcamp Intern
      • Jan 2013 - Jan 2013

One of eighteen individuals chosen to participate in NYSE Euronext's NextGen Bootcamp: a week-long internship program designed to provide college students with real-world work experience, mentorship, and skills to help prepare for future careers in the financial industry. During the program, I was able to meet with many NYSE executives, including the CEO, and gained a much more in-depth understanding of the operations of the NYSE and the capital markets in totality. Each participant joined different departments within the NYSE with the ultimate goal of presenting to the group at the end of the program. I partnered with the NYSE Options Department to learn and present on derivative contracts and some of the strategies that can be executed utilizing options. We started with the more basic concepts of calls and puts but also touched on some of the more complex topics, such as the Black-Scholes Model and butterfly spreads.
