As part of the START: Creative Futures programme offered at Sydenham Arts, I have been developing my career as a practicing artist. The opportunity allowed me to connect with Artists, and taught me how to better apply for funding grants and applications. At the end of the course we had the chance to pitch our ideas for a public-facing art installation, for a micro-grant. This project would be realised in collaboration with Sydenham Arts. We are waiting to hear results. As part of the START: Creative Futures programme offered at Sydenham Arts, I have been developing my career as a practicing artist. Working within hospitality as a Bartender at large corporate events has shaped me into a determined and hard working individual. With some shifts over twelve hours long, you learn how to maintain a positive attitude in brutal circumstances. I believe this is key to creative practice as will-power and determination can solve the majority of problems we encounter. Working at the Tank Factory fed my enthusiasm surrounding production. The hours were demanding and the work physically intense, however I came to develop a passion for the buzz of the studio environment. Working alongside demanding clients enabled me to develop techniques for managing myself professionally around challenging situations. I was forced to leave due to my commitment at final year university. Working at the Tank Factory fed my enthusiasm surrounding production.
