Bio
Greg Godfrey
To whom it may concern, Joe St. John is an outstanding member of Spokane County Fire District 8. He has been a member/Volunteer Firefighter for many years. His dedication and commitment is second to none. There is no doubt in my mind that Joe can do anything he puts his mind too. I have seen him take on projects, tasks and problems solve them until they are up and working. He is a finisher, not just an idea guy. Joe functions as one of our Volunteer Firefighter Chief Officers (Lieutenant) in our West Battalion. As an Officer, one of LT. St John’s assignments, is to mentor and train our younger Volunteer Firefighters. Joe’s ability to relate to the younger members and impart his knowledge is exceptional. I can tell you without a doubt, that LT St. John is looked up-to by our younger members and is one of the individuals they come to when they have questions. His enthusiasm and his can-do attitude are contagious. Joe is a tireless worker, who is committed to the Fire Service and serving his community. He is always cheerful and willing to take on any project. His day job is as an educator, which I am sure helps him with his ability to be able to relate and impart knowledge to our members. It is my pleasure to write this recommendation for Lieutenant Joe St. John. Greg Godfrey Retired Assistant Chief Spokane County Fire District 8
Erinn P. Nicley, Ph.D.
I wholeheartedly recommend Joe St. John for any senior position involving students, customers, and management of large, dynamic organizations. His formal qualifications are diverse, deep, and impeccable. Beyond that, Joe has a deep sense of humanity that makes people willingly push 100% and strive for excellence for him. Indeed, Joe's leadership goes far beyond mere management or analysis. Joe inspires people and makes them share the passion for the mission that he brought to my organization, Western Governors University. Joe mentored me and coached me to excel as I have moved into university administration. His leadership -- a style typified by a willingness to listen carefully, innovate ceaselessly, and share our successes -- is a major source of inspiration for how I do my job today. Erinn P. Nicley, Ph.D. Program Manager, General Education Department of Humanities, Philosophy, and Geography Western Governors University Erinn.nicley@wgu.edu
