I was involved with the setup and management of the Fresh Ground Café. A social enterprise community café based in Cainscross, Stroud. The project was set up to provide work experience to people with learning disabilities with the intention of supporting them in to paid employment after. I managed the work experience programme and coached each person on the programme individually along with promoting the café and its weekly activities and community inclusion sessions. I worked alongside my team supporting and guiding them to provide high standards of health and social care. I ensured regular supervisions and appraisals, monitoring performance and promoting the development of my team. Observing their practice and coaching them to develop new skills as well as ensuring they attend mandatory training and keeping an eye out for developmental training that will benefit them and the residents of the home.
