Revise and implement an operating procedure in the biomedical engineering workshop. The goal is to standardize across the CIUSSS the procedure to ship medical devices externally. I developed the procedure accompanied by "step-by-step" instructions for the use of the CMMS software (computer-assisted maintenance management software). To do so, I had to investigate the initial steps that the technicians were following, identify the differences and standardize the procedure with the most efficient approach possible while ensuring that it follows the guide of good practices of the biomedical engineer. In order to ensure the sustainability of the procedure and to guarantee quality, I also drew up an audit protocol on the use of the key elements of the CMMS and the physical steps that needed to be followed. "The objective of the METIS project is to design and develop an exoskeleton to assist patients with muscular dystrophy in their daily life. Our system seeks to replicate the movements of the upper limbs as faithfully and naturally as possible and to adapt to the differences between patients." (for more information, click on the link below) The main objective of the Classification team is to create and train an artificial intelligence system, made up of two neural networks, to deduce movement intention using the electrodes' EMG signals. Our team works alongside the acquisition team and the motors team. Show less

Dr Boutopoulos’ Lab has recently developed a novel drop-on-demand bioprinting technology, the laser-assisted side transfer (LIST), aiming to address the technological challenges in existing bioprinting technologies such as multiscale printing capabilities, i.e., fine-printed (high resolution) functional constructs of clinically relevant size (>1cm^3). For my internship, I was initially trained in laser bioprinting and viscosity measurements. I prepared and characterized the model bioinks and used the LIST setup to perform drop on demand printing. I determined the printing energy processing window (i.e. laser energy range, resulting in reproducible droplet ejection) and performance characteristics (i.e., printing resolution and speed) for those bioinks. I then used optical microscopy and image processing to validate the printing results (i.e., drop radius, area, circularity, volume). The project aligned to the broader goal of Dr. Boutopoulos's Lab: the development of a benchtop bioprinter based on LIST. Show less

Swimming Instructor
-
Jun 2015 - Oct 2020
I teach and evaluate students' swimming strokes following the Red Cross Swimming program. This job helped me acquire proven teaching methods, planning skills, and a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques.
