During my military career, my last assignment was as the principal advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Near East and South Asian Affairs (NESA) in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and as a subject matter expert on Middle East issues. I also commanded the 4th Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery from 1990 to 1993 and was the Deputy Bridage Commander for the 10th Air Defense Artillery Brigade from 1988 to 1990.
