Sports Anchor
-
Aug 2021 - May 2022
As a Sports anchor, two colleagues and I produced a 30-minute long show called the SportsZone. It covered everything from high school to professional sports and our roles rotated every week. Those roles included the main anchor, co-anchor/ Interview segment, and social media anchor. During my time, I conducted live and in-studio interviews with multiple ISU athletes. As the social media anchor, I gathered what was trending around the sports world and shared it with the audience through social media posts and infographics. Also during this time, I produced the sports block for our Wednesday News show. I usually created everything for this block.

The RedZone is our station's sports talk show, which aired every Thursday during the school year. As the producer, I was in charge of the Broadcasting Mixer and soundboard. Two colleagues and I discussed everything from high school sports to the pros. For every show, we are joined by at least one guest from the Illinois State Athletics community.

News and Sports reporter
-
Aug 2018 - May 2022
During my time at WZND, I was responsible for creating two newscasts a week that covered local and national stories. I was able to do play-by-play for Illinois State sports such as Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball and Volleyball. I also created an actuality or wrap every week that covered news and sports throughout the ISU community. In 2021 I was the beat reporter for ISU football and Men's golf.

As a reporter, I covered two packages a week that ranged from local to national news and sports stories. I am now proficient with using final cut pro for editing. During my morning shifts, there were strict deadlines to meet for our daily 12 pm newscast. I was able to film, voice track, and edit stories in under four hours. On air, I fronted in the studio and have done live shots around campus. As a reporter, I covered two packages a week that ranged from local to national news and sports stories.
