I worked for an International Wholesale business (Indigofera Distribution Ltd), with sales agents across the world. The majority of the focus is in Europe. My usual routine would be: • First thing every morning I would do a bank reconciliation for the main accounts across Sterling and Euros (and once a week the USD account). • Depending if my colleague is away, I will do the back reconciliation for the factoring company across the same currencies above. • Post cash received in Sage 200 (and reverse cancelled/bounced cheques) • Check the mail for cheques, photocopy and store post-dated cheques. • Write up the paying in book for the UK and European cheques that are due to be cashed. Follow standard protocol for safe guarding and transporting items to the bank. • Each Monday Morning I would do the aged debtors list across the different territories. I would answer any and all questions that the agents regarding the aged debtors in their territory. • Raise Manuel Credit notes (and invoices) for various reasons (including discounts taken). • Answer customer queries by phone and email (I have been told I have an excellent phone manner) • I have earned the confidence of my FD to make judgement calls regarding what accounts to put on hold and when to recommend tougher action. • Investigate all irregularities and correct them with a level of discretion • I would liaise with the whole sales team roughly every 3 weeks face to face. Otherwise regular communication would be maintained by phone/email (due to sales teams travelling outside the UK). • Making regular phone calls to debtors to chase for outstanding invoices with cultural sensitivity in mind. • Sending Statements of account to the customer and attaching all invoices (and credit notes). • Reconcile our accounts with the customers. • Client Liaison Officer
      • Nov 2011 - Mar 2012

Brief outline of some of the responsibilities: - Client profiling as they were usually high net worth or very selective - Had to handle clients in person and by phone (being aware of time differences as many clients lived outside of the UK) - Highlighting potential follow-on sales to consultants - Writing concise reports about clients and potential strategic partner companies, developing my interviewing skills - Prepare for meetings (including Clients, Banks, and other Companies) - Redesign and update all payments of client's accounts in Excel, - Archive and account cross referencing - Highlighting potential issues with accounts (doubtful debts for example) - Use of databases and input of data - Liaison with different parts of the business including offices in Ireland and Cyprus For my temporary position as the Client Liaison Officer at the SCF group I had the opportunity to further my interpersonal skills. As usual it was easy for me to integrate quickly and easily into the organisation. I was able to communicate effectively with every level of personnel in the organisation including the highest level of Management. My presence allowed the business to clear the backlog of unfinished work which was all completed in a timely manner. I was taught to become adept at researching the needs of the clients, prepared for all of their requirements and support the consultants whenever needed. I was also requested to research and interview firms to potentially form strategic partnerships with them. My ability to learn quickly and my organisational skills were immediately useful as I was able to stream line some of my responsibilities. I was able to dedicate more of my time to focus on the clients and help them get the best possible service they expected from a leading international business in its field of trust and management services.
