Established in 1817 Westpac is Australia’s oldest bank and is ranked in the top 10 listed companies by market capitalisation on the Australian Stock Exchange. The LTRI project was established to identify and remediate long term risk issues in dealing with data exchanged between various product systems such as Calypso and Murex and the reconciliation platform TLM (Transaction Lifecycle Management). As the stream lead I was responsible for designing and implemented documentation standards, templates and methodologies for use by the LTRI project which were subsequently adopted by other project teams as well. To overcome limitations within existing documentation for ETL mappings I developed functionality to interpret the XML extract from Informatica PowerCenter mappings and present the details in more readable form using Microsoft Excel. This role also included coordinating the development and testing efforts necessary to facilitate production deployments. Regular meetings with business owners and group assurance were also conducted to ensure all stakeholders approved the documentation and production changes.

The Customer Static Data project was part of a business process improvement program for the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB). As a senior solutions designer I worked with the project architect on the Technical Solution Design which incorporated the integration of IBM’s BPM solution and various in house applications that interfaced through TIBCO and the corporate ESB. I also produced various white papers on the design options available to the project. The Nostro project involved implementing a software solution for the management of foreign currency accounts held by Westpac with foreign correspondent banks. I was in responsible for producing a feasibility study on available solutions and the Technical Solution Design. The proposed system will go live in October 2014. The ETL3 upgrade project involved upgrading the Informatica run time framework and the introduction of a browser based user interface for the configuration and control of batch processing. I was also responsible for the delivery of a Unix based file pass through function which went into production August 2014.
