My pharmacy used Visual Pharmacy software that was developed by Joe and his team. Joe was very responsive and attentive to my thoughts/ideas for software changes that would improve pharmacy workflow and efficiency. If the change could be developed and implemented, he was willing to get it done. He would work tirelessly to make the software product the best it could be. He truly wanted the software to improve pharmacy operations and valued customer input regarding that goal. His excellent work ethic and great customer service skills were evident in our many visits and conversations. He set the bar higher for me and my entire pharmacy staff as it relates to our expectations for pharmacy software customer service and software customization.

It is my pleasure to recommend Joe Hayes who I have known for thirty one years. In 1986 when the personal computer was in its infancy, we started a company named Liberty Drug Systems and applied the computer to the process of keeping track of prescriptions in the drug store. Joe came on board as the programmer and together we grew the company to be a major supplier with a customer base of 200 independent drug stores in just 10 years. During that time Joe was responsible for managing the programmers, directing the software development and supervising the installations. Also during that period we developed and installed software to handle Point-Of-Sale for the front of the drug store and Third Party Billing or the payment of prescriptions by Insurance companies. We also developed the software to handle prescription processing in Nursing Homes. In 1995 our successful company was purchased by Amerisourse, a major drug wholesaler. After a few years Amerisource decided to get out of the computer business and sold the division. Joe went with the new owners and I retired. As you can see in Joe’s employment history, he has a wide range of experience in the development of computer applications, project management, customer support and managing employees. Joe would be a great asset to any company and has my highest recommendation. Sincerely, Ken Schurr President – Liberty Drug Systems
