Director | Founder
-
Feb 2002 - Jun 2014
I left my ‘real job’ in 2002 and started my own design studio. Over time I built Philter into an award winning creative communications agency based in Surry Hills, Sydney with a talented team of strategists, creatives, developers and account handlers... Philter was founded on the belief that rich, connected brand experiences are key to attracting and retaining customers. Every communication must be purposeful, achieve measurable results and contribute to business success. Services included strategy, brand identity, campaigns, web design and development, user experience design and print design. Off the back of Philter’s success and continued growth I decided to merge with another studio and rebrand as Tiny Hunter in 2014.

Interactive Designer

2001 - 2002
Having largely worked in branding and print based design I chose this position in order to gain more experience in digital. This is the area that I found to be most inspiring and intriguing - exploring usability and user experience and the endless possibilities with digital information environments. In this role my responsibilities were: - Site architecture and planning, designing and producing web sites, animations, presentations, multimedia email campaigns and interactives. - Planning and managing the development of projects, constantly liaising with programmers/designers to maintain the integrity of form, function and usability. - Developing and planning the architecture of sites and analysis of designs for usability issues and W3c compliancy if necessary.

Designer / Studio Manager
-
1997 - 1999
After graduation from Shillington College I was offered a role in the Shillington Graphics design studio. During this time I progressed from junior designer to studio manager and was responsible for all aspects of the studio environment: taking briefs, client liaison, estimating, concept, design, pre-press and scheduling. The majority of the work was high end marketing collateral for the property sector. After graduation from Shillington College I was offered a role in the Shillington Graphics design studio.
