As an editorial assistant Jodie's organisational skills, reliablity, attention to detail and ability to work to deadline were exemplary. But, above and beyond these valuable attributes was Jodie's talent as a writer. Her ability to produce copy across a range of applications was an asset for a small publication. I was very fortunate to have her as my editorial assistant.

I currently oversee New Vine's communication strategy, content and channels, in both the traditional and digital space. I identify opportunities to promote stronger connections amongst New Viners, people who are new to faith or our church family, and with our local community. As part of the Creative Team, I help plan, develop and deliver creative Sunday services that impact people with the good news of Jesus and the hope that He offers all of us. As part of the Student Recruitment team, my role is to create targeted communications to all prospective and future students across a number of channels. This involves using social media platforms, traditional print marketing materials, web content and targeted electronic direct mail to influence, inform and engage future students.Curating and creating engaging content across Future Student social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram ensures that our target market is able to find the information they need and engage with us in ways that are on their terms. While I've been in my current role, UON Future Students' social media following has grown significantly, as have engagement rates. It's a joy to see initiatives and campaigns that I've proposed be successfully implemented across channels to increase meaningful engagement.I'm responsible for project managing key university marketing publications, including quoting, budgeting, writing content, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, printers, designers and photographers.Maintaining UON's brand integrity across numerous channels is part of my role, as well as creating imagery to be used to support recruitment initiatives online, at events and in print.Running digital marketing campaigns and being able to report accurately on the outcomes has enabled Student Recruitment to target our audience and marketing spend more efficiently. With more than five years writing experience and having sat in the editor's seat of a monthly magazine, I know that editors need quality copy, on time and preferably written by someone with a bit of initiative. Blogging, profiles, local stories, researched features, I've done 'em all. Feel free to contact me for list of published articles in print or online. I planned the theme of the magazine, directing and commissioning articles, stories and content. This involves liaising with writers, graphic designers and photographers to produce a quality parenting magazine each month. Working to deadlines is an essential part of the job. Being a mother of three gives me the valued perspective of a parent that working in this field requires. Good organisational and communication skills are also intrinsic to the role of an editorial co-ordinator. My passion for the written word and sense of humour also help. Over the years, I've been a regular contributor to Sunny Days and Newcastle's Child magazines. I've also had articles published in My Child magazine, Sydney's Child magazine and The Sydney Morning Herald. On-line articles have been included on webchild.com.au and essentialbaby.com.au. My writing is easy to read, engaging and relevant for parents. I have a wealth of experience in writing feature stories, profiles, memoir and those tricky little bits of copy that editors sometimes need to fill an annoying little gap. Travel writing is also a passion I indulge when I can. As an editorial co-ordinator and a writer, I know the true meaning of the word 'deadline'. Show less
