Jodi regularly advises and appears both unled (and often with her own junior if the matter warrants) in various courts and tribunals across Australia, and as junior to highly-regarded Senior Counsel in significant litigation and commissions of inquiry. Complementing her practise as a barrister, Jodi is an accredited mediator pursuant to the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) and is committed to reaching effective and commercial outcomes to the resolution of disputes, whether appearing as counsel at mediations or acting as mediator. Notably, Jodi is also a Lieutenant of the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. Such experience has strengthened her leadership and teamwork skills. Jodi was instrumental in directing the development and implementation of effective strategies and negotiating international contracts with multi-national companies such as Pizza Hut and KFC, as well as licensors, including Disney and Warner Bros. for a boutique Australian advertising agency. This role required Jodi to regularly travel overseas (Asia and Latin America) and negotiate in a cross-cultural setting, giving her a deep understanding of the commercial realities in an international context, including in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil and Venezuela. A highly relationship-driven role, this experience served to enhance Jodi’s ability to forge immediate relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and reach effective solutions in a timely manner.
