Evolving customer service and handling high call volumes of catering orders while creating relationships with not only co- workers, but those who visited frequently was a great experience. Using those same skills and qualifications I know will take me a long way in the real world. I had the honor of working with little Miss Brooklyn from the age of 8 months until she reached a year. During this time I watched her grow and learn so much. Helping her with basic education such as colors, numbers, shapes, touch, and sensory skills was amazing to witness. I assisted in nurturing her welfare as well as her safety. Reading books and stimulating the recognition of certain body spots, such as her head, shoulder, eyes, and tummy was very enjoyable. Working with children is an aspiration that I love and enjoy! Interning as a Social Worker under Mrs. Jill Brown at both Fairmont and Rosenwald was life changing. Being able to experience first hand the problems that many children, parents, and communities face made me want to jump into the social work field and begin helping individuals one by one. Making reports to DSS, taking files down to the court house for immediate assistance, and speaking to children individually about on going issue and problems at home, forever shaped the woman I am today and inspired the woman I hope to be in the future.
