Out of the enthusiasm for mechanical and hydraulic engineering, I reacted to the opportunity of working at Brusselle Carral Marine (BCM). The machines produced by BCM all need a very extensive mechanical and hydraulic design, which mainly describes my interests. At BCM, I am responsible for the design, assembly, testing and technical issues during aftersales of the steering gears. For the design of these machines I have the chance to receive much of feedback of a senior engineer with approx. 50 years of experience! Next to my main task of steering gears, I also often go on board of vessels for service engineering for e.g. hydraulic-driven towing winches. Show less

Out of the lack of needing my desiging skills in my previous job (mostly organizing and managing), I started working at Avercon where design and manufacturing of automation machines are the main tasks. In the Job at Avercon, I was responsible for designing, manufacturing and installation of a specific type of packaging/automation machine in the flooring industry. For this, the mechanical design, assembly and testing were the main tasks, where the follow-up of manufacturing, purchasing and (design of) the automation of the machines completed the projects. Mostly short delivery times inside a small allowed cost frame made the projects very challenging. Together with some nice design challenges projects were very attractive. Also installation in e.g. China were very satisfying. Show less

This job is my first real work experience. In this job, the production machines and facilities are maintained up to date and competitive to obtain lowest production costs.
