El propósito de la Unidad Secretarial de Procedimiento de Querellas y Remedio Provisional es proveer información tanto a la parte querellante como a la parte querellada de cada querella de Educaciòn Especial presentada, su trámite y las gestiones que se llevan a cabo con los jueces administrativos para garantizar el debido proceso de ley, en el término de tiempo requerido. Además, a través de la Unidad Secretarial se administrará el mecanismo de Remedio Provisional, que se creó como alternativa para ofrecer determinados servicios relacionados, suplementarios y de apoyo a aquellos estudiantes, que sin duda tienen derecho al servicio, y cuyo único impedimento para recibirlo es que el Departamento de Educación (DE) no puede ofrecerlo en el momento en que se determina su elegibilidad. El procedimiento para solicitar el Remedio Provisional se rige por la Sentencia por Estipulación que emitió el Tribunal en el pleito de clase de Rosa Lydia Vélez y Otros v.
