Exercise prescription and training, specializing in prehab/rehab in the areas of orthopedic, cardiac, neuro, functional, adaptable mobility, pre/postnatal nutrition and physical exercise. My continuing education that included a Body Image Workshop, allowed me to provide value-added services by digging deeper into my clients' self-myths/beliefs. I furthered my education by learning and applying sports injury assessments and exercise prescription through sports medicine seminars sponsored by the Colorado Rockies and the Pittsburgh Pirates franchises. I have established and utilized a personal network of physicians to increase positive results with my clients. With my background in bedside care and working side-by-side with patients, physicians, PA's, and RN's, I was able to apply this knowledge in formulating my clients’ programs. This created a smoother and sustainable transition for them to follow S.M.A.R.T goals for their prescribed nutrition and exercise. Show less

Certified Nursing Assistant to an elderly, disabled veteran. Provided home health care, transportation, and exercise prescription with instruction. This was a 1:1 in-home healthcare plan designed to promote my client's ability for DLC. The exercise and nutrition plan increased his physical activity, and furthered his ability to live independently longer. I often took him on indoor/ outdoor excursions which also built his physical ability and confidence in social activities and settings and improved his quality of life. Show less

Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Recovery for General, Orthopedic, OBGYN, Urology, and Cardiac care for inpatient and outpatient surgery and procedures. Working at Woodwinds broadened my awareness and application of East meets West approach for patient care. I took advantage of extra training to implement Essential Oils therapy into the treatment protocol for patients' pre-op/post-op. I received numerous letters of recognition and awards for going above and beyond inpatient care, along with nursing and physician support. During available downtime, I performed tasks to train RN students for IV placement. Over time, CRNA's, Anesthesiologists, Surgeons, and PA's would specifically request me by calling for "The One" who would ease patients' discomfort with nausea, pain control, PTSD, and other diagnoses and side effects during their post-op care. Taking the Neuroscience and Ethics seminars increased not only my knowledge but, more importantly, my practical application into patients' bedside care. Show less
