I met Jonelle through a situation that would prove difficult to manage for most people. I had lodged a complaint with Jonelle's boss about some collateral harm repeatedly caused by kids being served by the youth-focused park district program she directed. Further, she was forced to work with a well known community member to whom she had been introduced by way of a complaint to her boss. Difficult is an understatement, the situation was no-win for Jonelle. However, due to her outstanding and unwavering commitment to the purposes of her program, she had built very strong relationships with the program users who were causing trouble. She was respected by kids who I'd seen give the local police a hard time. I was very impressed. Jonelle showed that she can be a brilliant diplomat, she very quickly remediated the issue, and kept what had been a recurring issue from becoming a problem ever again. Since, Jonelle and I have worked together on many community initiatives through her Presidency in Rotary and as a St Charles Park Dist/ community leader inducted to good causes by her general nature and commitment to community. Jonelle always does well building support for an idea or project as she is a very capable communicator and has the ability to recruit others to the effort by either reason or charm. I have come to greatly respect the passion and purpose which, to me, define Jonelle. I recommend Jonelle for any duty in need of someone with patience, the ability to compel others toward a goal, and purposeful leadership.
