It was truly my pleasure to work with Joaquin for 7 years at General Paint / Sherwin Williams, at that time he was in the Quality Assurance department and I was in the Production department. Joaquin’s attention to details and his technical expertise had helped the production team either avoided or trouble-shot many distressed batches, and subsequently reduced many hours of downtime and hundreds times more in otherwise-wasted gallons of paint! Joaquin also played an important leadership role in many continuous improvement initiatives in our facility, and his ability to collaborate with team members at all levels of an organization will make him a valuable asset to any team.

I have known Joaquin professionally since 2015 when he was working at the Vancouver Sherwin-Williams as a QC Supervisor, managing the site quality program. My first direct interaction with him was when I conducted a Division Quality Audit of the Vancouver site. Joaquin displayed a thorough technical knowledge of paint coatings, as well as an aptitude for technical requirements and formulation applications. In the Quality Assurance function, Joaquin showed strength in organization and timely response to Quality Control issues that arose at the site. Joaquin seemed enthusiastic to learn and implement new requirements and approaches, including Best Practices to be leveraged from other sites. He was instrumental in the reduction of DPTO (Defects per Thousand Opportunities) as a site metric, by over 40% from 2015 to 2016 results. Joaquin has a pleasant demeanor, and is a conscientious, pro-active employee that works well independently and in a team environment. He has shown an eagerness to be involved in the continual improvement process at the site. Joaquin is a pleasure to work with and any employer would be fortunate to have him on their staff!
