      In the laboratory of Dr. Amaicha Depino, we study the physiological bases of autism, the main objective of our group is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that underlie the development of behaviors related to autism. In our studies animal models of the disease and we focus on analyzing the contribution of inflammation in the development of behavioral disturbances. Our working hypothesis is that perinatal inflammation contributes to the development of autism-related behaviors. Our work is thus aimed at diluting this contribution and the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which this happens.
