The pHarmaLAB was created in 2017 for the training of new Chemical Analysts within the scope of the 9ºW Program of Hovione Farmaciência SA, in partnership with the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL). Our analytical lab facilities include liquid and gas chromatographs as well as wet chemistry techniques such as Karl-Fischer titration and particle size analysis, providing a great and challenging learning environment, and complying with the GMP guidelines.As Laboratory Supervisor, I am responsible for:- Laboratory management;- Creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);- Care and preventive maintenance actions of chromatography equipments;- Planning of lab activities;- HPLC-UV, HPLC-PDA/MS (QDa) and HS-GC-FID method development within the scope of R&D projects, which took place in pHarmaLAB.While as Trainer in the training course for chemical analysts, I am responsible for: - Trainer in Liquid (LC) and Gas (GC) chromatography;- Trainer in analytical records;- Trainer in proper handling of analytical balances and pH meter equipment;- Analytical Method Validation – HPLC and GC;- Review of analytical records and technical reports.Technical skills:- High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) coupled to UV/Vis, PDA and QDa detectors;- Gas Chromatography (GC-GID and HS-GC-FID);- Volumetric and coulometric Karl-Fischer Titration; - Malvern 3000 (wet and dry analysis) for Particle Size Distribution analysis;- Software: LIMS, Empower 3, Mastersizer, Tiamo.

I worked as a Chemical Analyst at Quality Control Laboratory of Atlantic Pharma, Tecnimede Group. Sampling of raw materials (API and Excipients); Analysis of raw materials (knowledge of European Pharmacopoeia methods and practices); Cleaning Verification Analysis of Finished Product (for Batch release and Manufacturing Process Validation); Analysis of purified water (TOC, pH, heavy metals and nitrates); Equipment calibration (eg. Analytical balance; Karl-Fisher Titrator, Potentiometric Titrator, pH Meter);I have experience in both High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Gas Chromatography:- Waters HPLC System (with Empower 2 and 3);- Lachrom Elite HPLC System;- Agilent GC System (with Chemstation)Meanwhile, i've got the opportunity to be responsible for the lab reagents management which permitted me to gain some communication skills from being in contact with suppliers as well as learning a few things of SAP.

I had the opportunity to do an internship at National Health Institute Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA, I.P). The aim of my thesis was to perform the validation of an RP-HPLC-UV method for the simultaneous quantification of food preservatives (benzoic and sorbic acids) and edulcorants (acessulfame-K, saccharin and aspartame) and study the occurrence of this food additives in foodstuffs like soft drinks, fruit juices, quince jam and iogurts, sauces, bread and cakes.
