The hotel has 803 rooms, 12 function rooms, 2 major kitchens, and 2 common spaces. As a maintenance engineer my responsibility was to make sure the spaces were kept up to date. In addition to maintenance duties, I completed tasks that were given to me by the PBX (operators) within the building. In 2018 the hotel had a major room renovation. During the renovation I assisted my team by performing tasks such as changing lock batteries, setting up TVs, radios, lighting, and security latches. With the Marriott/Starwood merger I utilized new trainings and techniques to better assist and serve the guests. For example, if a guest needs a shower head fixed, room temperature changed, or anything specific to the room, they contact PBX and from there the operator gives us a call letting us know where to go and what needs to be fixed. We work on small repairs, such as patching drywall, fixing faulty wiring, or unclogging drains. Show less
