Bio
Bill DePhillips
Joanne was my valued colleague at MyVest for almost two years. Aside from being a strong engineer who had built the majority of the application’s front end from the ground up, she excelled in promoting the human side of building software. As a team lead, she was always a diplomatic and respectful manager. I especially appreciated that she acted as a developer advocate while trying to improve the organization’s culture and environment. She also repeatedly demonstrated her loyalty and genuine concern for the company’s success, at one time even volunteering for a last minute cross-country trip to work on-site with a client to help catch up a delayed project. If I was staffing a new company, I’d recruit her in a strong leadership role with room to expand. With her skill set, she could stay purely technical or be a great project manager.
