Bio
Alison Witherspoon, Ed.D.
Dr. Joanne Weiss served as an external peer reviewer for American College of Education’s Curriculum and Instruction master’s degree program as part of academic comprehensive program review. In this capacity, Dr. Weiss was a considerate, thorough, and thoughtful consultant. She worked well within the timeline and constraints we set forth, provided purposeful and meaningful feedback. She was fully prepared for the virtual site visit and met all deadlines. Her specific consideration of regulatory requirements and recommendations related to assessment of student learning serve as excellent guidance for this program and the College as we continue to grow and improve. I highly recommend Dr. Weiss as an external consultant, especially related to assessment and program review.
Franklin Haynes
Joanne is gifted in the art (and science) of Curriculum Development. Joanne has taught myself and others the importance of alignment in curriculum between objectives and assessments. She has also conducted Program Design meetings working with College faculty, as well as experts in the field, to produce academic programs that featured rigorous research and student engagement as program focal points. Her work ethic was (and is) impeccable and she consistently modeled servant leadership. She encouraged all of us to pursue excellence in the development of world class curriculum.
