Dell is contracted by Oakwood to provide, among other positions, certified coders for Oakwood Physicians, OPi. I was hired to provide physician education in addition to coding. Mainly, as the coders I work with identify areas in documentation where there should be some communication with physicians, I am to provide that 'education'. I also extract data by reports to review documentation and determine if there are weaknesses. If so, again, I meet with physicians to help shore up those potential weaknesses in the documentation.
